DREAM A LITTLE DREAM FOR ME
and all of the sudden those mattress commercials made sense. the whole "i can get up without waking up my mate" and less of the "i'm jumping up and down while not spilling that glass of wine."
we were laying down on my bed (fully clothed mind the readers) and she was close to napping, and the one thing i could think of as i thought of getting up was "i really don't want to wake her up."
we went for a walk after she ate a bowl of cheereos. we walked down to the beach through the trails, she was very conscious about the spider webs, and made sure we didn't ruin the pretty ones when we could. and then the actual decent down to the beach was horrible, as i remember the last time i took that trail, and dick and alex and i got killed by nettles. as it would turn out, against the odds (i was wearing sandels and a t-shirt, jessica, multiple layers of clothes and her tigers) she got stung a little on the hand, and i didn't get stung at all (that i have yet to confirm).
at the beach jessica did some things i'm not to repeat. she may have done a cartwheel, or a flip, or she may have composed a poem. it's really not for me to say (she very well may have done all of those behind my back anyway).
after the horrible journey back by road (it was hot! and really really hard for some reason!) we had drinks, orange juice and lemonade, she napped a little, i lounged on the floor, and then we decided on lunch, but no one moved, so we layed around some more. alex got home and he took us to go get the explorer from my mom at work, and he was a gentleman.
we went to artco to check for a set of pens my mom wanted, jessica found a pen box she really wanted, and then fancy art markers, and then she decided not to get any. then we went to lunch at east west, where jessica ate some wierd thing with... stuff that had chicken in it and rice wrapped in lettuce. she thought i'd have been able to figure it out, but i resigned that i would have no idea how to go about eating something like that.
we went to michaels to look for the pens again, and they had a slightly better selection but nothing like what we were looking for. we drove home and got stuck in traffic, apparently jessica hates traffic, has road rage and is just angry at the traffic itself. also apparently she's exactly like my mom when it comes to being nervous about the bridge.
when we got back she had tea with all the fixings (that's cream, and honey, no sugar (apparently)), and we sat on the deck and talked while watching deigo do his thing, finding out why the water trapped in tarps moved when he did. we came in and watched house, which she liked, but said that i liked it because it was, "like watching yourself on television as a doctor."
i just laughed at the time, but now i'm wondering...
